It was rumored for long time that Amazon was making phone of its own. Now Amazon has announced it “Fire Phone” and it will be released on July 25th, 2014. So what is in the package?
It is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU at 2.2GHz with Adreno 330 GPU. It has 13MP rear camera and 720p display. But this phone has 5 front facing camera for 3D effects.
These cameras allows to tilt, auto-scroll, swivel and peek to navigate. The phone also has Firefly Technology – which allows printed web, email addresses, phone numbers, QR codes and bar codes and more than 100 million items such as movies, books, TV shows and products to be identified – phone also features dedicated Firefly button for this purpose.
Fire Phone features 13MP camera with optical image stabilization and also fast five element wide aperture f/2.0 lens. It also allows 1080p video recording at 30fps from both front and back camera. For photos, Amazon offers free unlimited cloud service to store them – this also allows automatic backup to cloud drive.
The phone comes with full year of Amazon Prime service too, and the underlying Android OS is heavily modified like its kindle tablets (Fire OS 3.5) and also apps can be downloaded using Amazon Appstore. For a limited time this phone comes with 1000 Amazon Coins ($10 value) for app purchases.
According to Amazon, the phone delivers 285 hours of standby time, up to 22 hours of talk time, up to 65 hours of audio playback and up to 11 hours of video playback. It also has Dolby Digital Plus certified speakers.
