Bing has been engaged in a hard battle with Google over the "Search Ownership" for the internet, and Bing has been releasing some original ideas into the wild and catching up quickly with Google. But so many features are there, but when it comes to search results, Google's are the most relevant, some say in US, the Bing results are comparable to Google's.
Microsoft is working hard to unite their product into a single super product, we have seen upcoming Windows Phone has Cortana - the virtual voice based assistant, like iPhone's Siri. Cortana is powered by Bing, of cause. Bing team has been building the knowledge base repository for millions of entities such as people, places, photos, videos and so on, probably this is also the back bone of Cortana's context aware answers.
Now Bing has released, what they called "Bing Knowledge Widget". It is a JavaScript based widget for websites - it detects the content in your website and connect them with the knowledge base and get relevant information about the entities in the web page.
