As planned, today Microsoft has released the "Preview for Developer" version of Windows Phone 8.1 and users already registered for the program can now download and install it.
Registered users can check for updates on their phone to get the new update installed. Well if you are not registered for the developer program, it is easy to register and get the Windows Phone 8.1 update on your mobile.
Developer Preview program is very useful for developers as Windows Phone software updates are available for them ahead of normal users so the developers can play with the new features and develop apps for it.

Windows Phone 8.1 comes with lot of new features including Action Center (Notification hub) and Siri like personal digital assistant - Cortana and lot of other features too.
Lumia 630 and 635 phones will be released in May with the new Windows Phone 8.1 update, for other phones the update will be available later in summer.
